The Breakup Kit 2

So not long after my little Break-up kit was delivered to me a friend of mine got broken up with... she was in this relationship for much longer than I was and so it was hitting her with some great force.

She was not eating or drinking, crying all the time and  hardly getting any sunlight or activity. This was quite worrying and so I decided to make up my own little survival kit filled with things that I thought were helpful/ necessary for one reason or the other and so I wrote a little letter and gathered the items.

Dear Zoe,

This is your very own breakup survival kit <3

Tissues – to remind you that it’s alright to cry

Juice & water – to make sure you drink fluids

Marshmallows – to remind you that you are sweet (also they are easy to eat)

Chocolate  - because it’s always good for recovery

Skittles – to brighten your sad days

Gum – to freshen up your life and keep your energy high

Socks – to remind you that your are crazy cool and it’s fine to wear pjs all day

Bubbles – to remind you that you are a bubbly princess, who makes us smile.

Journal - to write down your thoughts and stop thinking about them

Mug – to fill with warm foods/drinks and snuggle up with on cold nights

Teddy – to hug when you feel upset, to remind you that you are loved!

The Teddy in this little kit was the kind that you can write messages on and so I got all of our mutual friends (from a singing/performance group that we are both in) to sign it and send a little message her way.

Her response was awesome!! She nearly cried on the spot and was so happy to realise just how many people she had to support her. She started eating that day and she also smiled for the first time in a few days.. so a job well done :) Thanks to all those who wrote a little something for her!!

The Breakup Kit

So in my last post I wrote about my break up earlier that week.

Well later that same week and very lovely mate of mine put together a 'Break-up survival kit'.

The kit was mentioned at a rehearsals and I saw it from a distance but to be honest, I was completely overwhelmed by the amount of hugs and advice I was getting from everyone that I completely forgot to  pick up this mystery box/ bag.

Upon arriving home I realised that I had forgotten it and promptly contacted my friend to find out when I could retrieve it and what was actually inside. He told me that he thought it was a stupid idea after all and didn't want to embarrass himself by giving it to me, because it had really random stuff in it. I insisted then that he at least tell me what I was missing out on and why he had chose such 'random' items to add to the bag.

Here is the contents of the kit and the reasons why these items were added...

A box of tissues to let you know that it's ok to cry

There was a compass to help you find your way when you feel lost

There was a lion to remind you to be brave

There was a torch to help you when it gets dark

And matches because let's face it matches are always useful

Binoculars to help you see far into the future

There were sweets because hey...they're sweets

A poncho just because they're awesome

and finally: A 'Hand of the King' pin/broach because you are important and Game of Thrones is cool!

Not long after the gift giving, this friend admitted that he has had feelings for me since we first met (at which point I had just started dating the guy which the last post was about) but that he knows I do not feel the same way. This has not changed our friendship in the slightest... he is surely my best male friend and I would not exchange him for any other. It's also nice when you get a stream of compliments from a male friend... Don't you think?!  (Gosh I have the biggest head this year!!! )

Also also also, this survival kit is a lifelong one so when things run out they get replaced... woo hoo, lollies forever!!! :)

1 year ago a boy stole my heart strings... 

I fell in love with him, like I've never been in love before...

On Monday night we broke up...

He never read this because it was a gift for our 1 year... but

 perhaps you will read it and then you'll know how I felt and why I loved this boy

 I hope you also feel terribly sick at how disgustingly cheesy it is

This is a chest of 'loves'. It has been made by a heart that holds you dearly. These 'loves' are a combination of physical features, mannerisms, circumstantial and trivial situations that I love about you. The hope is that these 'loves' will make you smile, laugh, wonder and understand how I feel about you. They should also make you feel as special as you make me feel

• Your random and yet funny OCD habits

• I love it when we have book/ story description time, you make me interested in reading... Which is always a good thing

• I love that you never belittle me even when I'm acting like a child

• I love that we casually end up talking about death a lot, I mean I love that it's always so trivial

• I love that you like gossip so much, gives me someone to share stuff with

• I love it when you refer to me as your girlfriend

• I love that the backseat of your car is always trashed, in fact your car is generally nearly always trashed

• I love it when you tell me things that you like about me

• I love it when you tell me how you feel about us.

• I loved the time you said "Sometimes I screw it up because I'm an idiot. But I know that it'll be ok... I dont know why I know that... But I just kinda do."

• I love doing puzzles with you, coz we're so cool like that

• I love that you must tell everyone some random fact about something if they get it wrong, regardless of if they care or not

• I love that you know the movie 'it's a wonderful life' because it's one of my favourites

• I love it how you tell me some things twice or three times and although I've heard it before, the story never changes and you are still just as excited

• I love that you make the effort not to be awkward around my friends

• I love that you've made an effort to get to know my family, especially coming to important family events

• I love when you make ridiculous faces, it makes me smile

• I love your tired sleepy self that mumbles off into random thoughts

• I love your deep "I've been overusing my voice" voice

• I love that for some unknown reason I don't mind kissing your beer lips

• I love that you hardly ever differ from your apple juice with dinner

• I love that on pub nights you always ask me first of I'd like a drink

• I love that you sometimes randomly rest your arm on you head

• I love resting my forehead on yours

• I love that you are smart

• I love that you are handsome

• I love that you're not obsessed with the latest trends

• I love that you are into older music and movies, classics!

• I love that you're not into material things, especially because to me you seem rich (just coz of where I was brought up)

• I love that you play the banjo- it's so different

• I love that you're not afraid to say what you think

• I loved it when you said "You are very prettyful...that's like pretty and beautiful and you are 'very' both of those things" it was really sweet! ;P

• I loved your birthday text to me in '13

• I love that you can turn my sad crying face into a happy smiley one

• I Love that when I look at you all I can think is 'I love you'

• I love that you share Sweeney stuff with me even though you shouldn't

• I love that you had braces just like me and also that you had your wisdom teeth removed

• I love that you try to explain your games to me even though I'll probably never understand them

• I love that we have to stop to breathe, more so when you have to, because that's cuter (when we have colds)

• I love that you 'went there' when you said *poke* *hug* *kiss* for the first time

• I love the little spot on the left hand side of your nose

• I love those moments when everything gets a little intense and intimate

• I love that you have never pressured me into doing anything I didn't want to do

• I love the way that you dress and act chilled but also how you dress up when we go out

• I love your stories, jokes and random facts that seem to be never ending

• I love the way you speak to me (with respect and interest)

• I love the way you kiss my neck, regardless of my squirming about

• I know i've said it before but I love your eyes! They are seriously amazing and I'm so glad to be the one who gets to look at them all the time.

• I love the way you place your hands on my hips or my sides and come in for a hug.

• I love it when you hug or kiss me when I'm busy doing something or talking to someone

• I love it when you tickle me and make giggle but I'll probably never admit that in person.

• I love how you say I'm pretty when I feel or look like crap or a massive dag (but let's face it, I'm pretty daggy)

• I love that I feel no need to be fake or untrue to myself when I'm around you.

• I love that you're humorous and you make me laugh

• I love that you can make me laugh without saying a word

• I love that you are honest and would rather say nothing than tell a lie

• I love that you don't want to make me sick when you are sick.

• I love that certain songs remind me of you and whenever I hear them I can't help but smile and sing along

• I love that when I think about you I have a dorky smile on my face

• I love that I'm happier since I've been with you

• I love your cute angry/ frustrated face at trivia, especially when people don't believe you

• I love that when I'm sick and gross you still kiss and hug me

• I love that you still love me when I dress like a dag

• I love that you stopped your video game to say goodbye

• I love that you were all huggie when I had to leave your family do. Maybe it was the drinks or maybe it was the general excitement but either way

• I love your cute almost drunk ramblings and how affectionate it makes you

• I love it when you do things for me; like see a show, even when you don't want to

• I love the way you are so comfortable with playing guitar or banjo and singing in front of me

• I love your über nerdiness! Which is often contained until I walk in on you or if something new has just come out

• I loved your reaction to your 20th birthday gift last year

• I love that you stole my heart strings before we were dating and that you still hold them now

• I love that whenever I see you or think about you I can't help but smile

• I fall more and more in love with you every time we meet

• I love the way you point out awkward things by talking them through as they are happening

• I love the way you like my sticky outy ears and pointy nose

• I love your sexy, handsome, attractive, gorgeous YAWN FACES

• (In the least creepy way possible) I love the fact that I could sit and look at you all day and not get bored

• I love that your compliments that somehow end up backwards.. Or far too explained

• I love the genuineness of your 'I love you's'

• I love it when you randomly start singing and then get stuck on a tangent

• I love it when you sing a song about loving someone and you look at me like 'this is for you'

• I love it when you kiss my forehead, It feels like i'm the only person that matters

• I love it when you whisper in my ear. Both when you actually whisper I love you and when you pretend coz you know I like it... It makes me smile anyway

• I love it when you play with my hair and when I can play with yours

• I love the fact that we always manage to talk about your beard

• I love the way you always get excited when I bring you food

• I love it when you get stuck talking about a life experience or something that you'd like to happen in the future

• I love the times we can chill with ALL of your family

• I love the way you say naww after I say something sweet to you, but more so when you say something sweet to me and you still say naww ;P

• I love holding your hand when watching movies or walking somewhere or just in general

• I love the way you must google, wiki, imdb everything to make sure you were correct

• I love the way you suggest I should go home, even though neither of us want me to go home

• I love our late night text messages that always have me smiling and giggling ;P

• I love the way that you know I'm completely insane but you wouldn't have it any other way ;P

I love that every time I look at you or think about you, I can think of another one of these loves <3
