So because I'm a good girl and have been focusing on my studies, just for the last three days I've neglected my blog... But don't worry i'll fill you in on what's been happening...
Basically the unit is called "The Musical" and so each day we come in sit down watch a movie - a musical - and then have lunch, after that we come back discuss it, analyse it, then have a sing along.
Day 1... Tuesday: SHOW BOAT
The campus I'm on for this unit is not my ordinary campus... it also happens to be much larger and full of beautiful big halls and lecture theatres. In true UWS [University of Western Sydney] style the course has been given a new room for each day... which is pretty stupid seeing a no one else is using these buildings due to summer holidays but oh well may as well see the sight while we're here. Our lecturer is an absolute crack up, he's very experienced in the subject has a brilliant voice and a great way of explaining concepts as well as answering questions. I figured I had 2 options from the start... make friends or be lonered... I chose friends and so now i've met a few wonderfully interesting people =D
Memorable moment: "Do you want me to be your make believe Daddy?!?!" (google the scene in Showboat where Gaylord meets his daughter Kim- super suss)
Day 2... Wednesday: OKLAHOMA
I decided to take a different route to get there and luckily I did.. as the route I would have taken, had a 3 car pile up accident. As mentioned earlier we were in a different room which many people didn't realise so instead ended up arriving several minutes late in a confused state. We watched Oklahoma the Hugh Jackman version which was totally awesome - from that point on I was sing "Oh what a beautiful morning" all day and even the next day when I woke up. There's a really odd song in that musical.. one in which Curly sings to Jud about his [Jud's] funeral and how great it'll be when he's dead... it's so creepy. After uni I went out with some mates to see "Meet the Little Fockers" which i thought was quite funny =d I enjoyed it.. but also enjoyed the company... some mates I hadn't seen for a while.
Memorable moment: pulling up to the boom gate in the car-park and realising I had to pay extra coz i'd spent so long talking to friends before leaving the shops .. silly me.
Day 3... Thursday: MY FAIR LADY
Seated in the biggest room yet one that could house 1000 students David our lecturer made this joke upon entry "it might be a little squashy and you might have to sit next to someone you don't know today so just deal with the space we have". It was quite funny considering there are only roughly 200 people taking this unit. The movie is/was very very long and having arrived home late the night b4 I must admit I fell asleep during one of the last scenes - funnily enough the one without music to wake me up. The sing along at the end of the day was quite fun, it's made me aware however of the number of people who can sing and quite well mind you in this unit.
Memorable moment: I put my hand up and answered a question today... and my answer was right. BOO YA!!
In other news/ random thoughts: I got the reader on the 1st day that has all the sources and readings and I've almost read all the ones I'm supposed to up until now.
I've almost finished reading Harry Potter 4... and once again I should be reading stuff for uni not that.
I've got my first assessment for uni over this weekend.. EEEPPPPP.
I just answered my phone to a private number that's been calling all week, geez who are you?
I've been having some really odd dreams lately and when I finally wake up it's a relief they weren't real.
One of the new friends I've made this week is mutual friends with another... such a small world.
The new people I've met... I actually remember their names so everyday I try to slot it in somewhere.. I've got a feeling they can't remember mine hehehe.

Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue.
God Bless
